Good News

Lunch:   Pizza Slice on Whole Grain, Celery Sticks, Hummus and Fresh Pear

Band:    7th and 8th grade band will meet today during Plus Block

                                                Block 6 – 7th and 8th grade Trombone

                                                Block 7 – 7th & 8th grade Percussion

ChorusToday 5th grade chorus will meet with Mrs. Fortin during Plus Block.

Select Chorus Auditions will continue today with students from Mrs. Pease or Ms. Cox advisories.  Students in Mrs. Jones or Mrs. Groleau’s advisories will audition on Monday.

Sports:  Today in sports, the Girls’ Soccer Team will play at Weare at 3:30pm.  The bus will leave at 2:00pm.  Please dismiss the girls soccer team at 1:45pm. 

The Girls Field Hockey Team travels to Sanborn for a 3:30pm game.  The bus will leave at 1:30pm.  The girls field hockey team should be dismissed at 1:15pm.

The Boys and Girls Cross Country team will compete in the Milford Invitational tomorrow at 3:30pm.  The bus will leave at 2:00pm.  The Cross Country Team should be dismissed at 1:45pm.

Daily Announcements:


If any 7th or 8th grade SMS boy or girl would like to participate in a basketball shooting clinic at ConVal please stop down to the gym and get a flyer from Mr. Silegy.  The flyer will be on the table in the foyer as you come into the gym.


Any 6th, 7th or 8th grade SMS girl, that missed the volleyball meeting Thursday,  and is interested in playing volleyball at SMS, please see Mr. Sil in the gym before Tuesday.


If you need Community Service Hours, volunteers are needed at the Greenfield Harvest Fair on October 4th from 9am-3pm at Greenfield’s Oak Park.  To volunteer, please stop in the office and pick up a form to coordinate with the Greenfield PTO.


The first NHDI class will begin Wednesday, September 24th at 7:15am.  Please come prepared with sneakers and a hair tie for long hair.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Bly.  We look forward to a great year with great dancers!


The 2015 SMS ski and snowboarding program is open for sign-ups through the Crotched Mountain website.  If your parents did not pick up the instructions and ski bus form at open house, please see your advisor, Mrs. Brophy or Ms. Wrubel. You can sign up for the mountain through October 13th.  Bus space is first come, first served.


Any SMS boy or girl who would like to be a ball person for home Boy’s and Girl’s Soccer Games please come down to Mr. Sil’s office and he will give you information.  Being a ball person is a great way to earn community service hours.

The ConVal High School Girl’s Varsity Basketball Coach has invited any 8th grade SMS Girl Basketball Players to attend OPEN GYM over the next month.  If you are interested in attending you may go on Mondays and Wednesday from 2:30-4:00pm or Tuesday evenings from 5:00-7:00pm.  Those attending the Monday and Wednesday after school sessions must bring in a note from your parents giving you permission to walk up to ConVal High School.


Any students arriving at school before 7:10am must go either to the cafeteria for breakfast and eat in the cafeteria, or wait in the front lobby or go to the gym.
