Music on Monday

Band: 6th Grade Band will meet with Mr. Lowy today during Plus Block.

Lessons:          

  • Block 2 – 5th grade flutes
  • Block 3 – 5th grade clarinets
  • Block 6 – 5th grade alto sax
  • Block 7 – 5th grade trumpets

 

The Jazz Band rehearses today after school.

 

Chorus:  7th and 8th Grade Chorus will meet with Mrs. Fortin today during Plus Block.

 

Sports

Any fall athlete interested in ordering a SMS athletic sweatshirt please come down to the gym when you can and pick up an order form from Mr. Sil.  IT IS NOT TOO LATE!  This now includes football and volleyball athletes.

Today is the first day of SMS boys and girls BASKETBALL try outs.  Please come down to the gym right after school if you are trying out.  You need permission to stay after school for tryouts.

 

4-H News

Today, please come meet Jan, the new 4-H Club Leader.  Learn more about all the great things we will do this year. We will focus on the plants in the garden and the Greenhouse at SMS.  We will also do projects in cooking, science, art and of course growing a garden. We meet Mondays from 2:15pm to 4:00pm so students may take the late bus home.   Permission sheets are available in the office.

 

Yankee Candles

The Yankee Candle Fundraising Sale has been extended to Friday, November 7.  Extra order forms and brochures are in the office for anyone needing extras. Remember SMS awards the top seller of each grade (5,6,7,8) a $50 I-tunes gift card for their terrific efforts. 

 

Hat Day

8th grade will be holding a "Hat Day" fundraiser on Friday November 7th. You can wear your favorite hat all day for just id="mce_marker".00!  Please pay at the table in the lobby first thing in the morning, get your hand stamped, and then wear that hat! (Even to the PUMA PRIDE assembly!)

 

Drama Club

Attention all students interested in joining Drama Club. This year’s production will be the classic tale of a brave mouse in the big city, Stuart Little. Auditions will be after school Monday, December 1st and Wednesday, December 3rd. Signup sheets are on the Drama Club Bulletin Board (across from the Library.)  Please only sign up for one audition day and only take one audition packet.  If you have any questions please see Mrs. Koban in room 52.

 

Lost and Found

If you are missing anything, be sure to look in lost and found in its new location on the right side of the hallway.  If you don’t have time to look during the day, check out the lost and found link on our website. New pictures posted frequently. 

 

Arrival at School:  Any students arriving at school before 7:10am must go either to the cafeteria for breakfast and eat in the cafeteria, or wait in the front lobby or go to the gym.  

Friday Night Rollerskating!

When:  Every Friday Evening Beginning 

October 17th through April 17th when school is in session.

(Except Halloween – 10/31/14)

 

Roller Skating $7 per session

Session 1:  5:30pm – 7:00 pm ~ (Family Skate)

Session 2: 6:30pm – 8:00pm

Students, grade 4 and under must be supervised by an adult.
