Ms. Lois Horan
Biographical Information
Lois Horan received a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (with NH Principal Certification) in Educational Leadership from Antioch University in 2009. In addition to her regular teaching duties, Ms. Horan is the Coordinator for both Summer Academy and Extended Day Academy, programs that offer extended learning opportunities and credit recovery beyond the school day and school year.
She received a Master of Education from Antioch University in 2005, and a Bachelor of Arts and Letters in Modern Languages from McGill University in 1982.
During the 2005-2006 school year, Ms. Horan was onsite as the Director of Pine Hill Child Care Center, which is owned by Pine Hill Waldorf School in Wilton, NH. In 2006-2007, Ms. Horan was hired as the instructor for the Careers in Education program, where she currently teaches.
In 2010, the Careers in Education program became a NH Running Start program with Nashua Community College, offering 3 college credits to participating students. In 2011, the program began offering 6 college credits. Currently Ms. Horan is also a part-time adjunct faculty at NCC, teaching in the evening division of the Early Childhood Education Program.
She is a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the National Educators Association, the NH Afterschool Alliance, and the National School Reform Faculty. She is a trained Critical Friends Group Coach.
