Special Education

The Special Education Department at ConVal High School consists of a Special Education Coordinator, an Administrative Assistant, School Psychologists, a Transition Coordinator, Teachers and Para Educators.

It is our goal to work collectively with students, families, communities, colleagues and other professionals in order to support each student's success and interests as he/she prepares for future endeavors.

The Co-Teaching Model

Many of the classes at ConVal High School utilize the concept of co-teaching.

In this model, a special educator works side-by-side with a regular educator in order to better address the diverse learning styles in the classroom. This type of teaching allows students with special needs to be successful in the regular education curriculum.

Currently, ConVal offers co-teaching in Biology, Eastern World Heritage, English 9 and 10, and several Mathematics classes.
