Steve Bartsch, Dean of Students
Biographical Information
Steve Bartsch has been in education for the past 20 years. He began his education career as a graduate student at DePaul University where he received his Master of Education Degree in Curriculum Development.
After a student teaching in the city of Chicago, he taught in a private school for a year. He then moved back to New England where he began his career at ConVal High School.
Mr. Bartsch started at ConVal as a science teacher and an assistant football coach. He later became the head football coach for 9 seasons. His contributions as a science teacher included developing the Health Occupations Anatomy and Physiology program with colleague John Reitnauer.
Through the years, Mr. Bartsch has presented several times at the National Science Teachers National Conference. As a teacher, he was awarded the Teacher of the Year twice during his tenure at the high school.
Mr. Bartsch has been an Assistant Principal at ConVal for the past five years and loves his job. As of 2011-2012, he serves as the Dean of Students at ConVal. Anyone who knows him knows how proud he is to wear the ConVal Blue and Gold.
