SCHOOL MEALS GET HEALTHIER EVERY YEAR!
In efforts to fight the childhood obesity epidemic, Congress passed The Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act (HHFKA) of 2010. The Act was designed to help ensure students have access to the nutritious food they need to perform well in school and grow into healthy adults. Along with the implementation of the HHFKA in 2012 came many changes to the school meals program.

FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES PROGRAM
We are pleased to announce that four of our schools, Great Brook, Antrim Elementary Pierce Elementary and Peterborough Elementary have been selected by the New Hampshire Department of Education to participate in the Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Program for the 2014-15 school year. The FFVP is a federally funded program which provides all children in qualifying schools with FREE fresh fruits and vegetables, to be offered at times during the school day other than breakfast and lunchtime. It is an effective and creative way of introducing fresh fruits and veggies as healthy snack options. Students thoroughly enjoy the variety of fresh fruits and veggies and are excited to try new things!
GRAB N' GO BREAKFAST
Students need to fuel up with the most important meal of the day. Conval Food Service offers a Grab n' Go breakfast at South Meadow School, Francestown, Greenfield, Hancock, Peterborough, Pierce and Temple Elementary Schools. These quick and convenient bags provide students with a nutritious breakfast meal containing 2 servings of grain and/or protein, 1 serving of fruit, 1 serving of juice and a milk. These fun packages are perfect at breakfast or snack time. Check with your child's school to see when the Grab n' Go Breakfast is offered.
Breakfast is available daily at all Conval Schools.
